Koysha Hydro Electric Power Plant

Koysha is a hydroelectric power project under construction on the Omo River Cascade in Ethiopia, with a generation capacity of 2,160 MW. The project features an RCC (Roller-Compacted Concrete) gravity dam approximately 180 meters high, creating a reservoir with a capacity of 6,500 million cubic meters (Mm³). Additionally, the project includes a 400 kV transmission line spanning 144.462 kilometers, comprising 346 towers, connecting the Gibe III Switchyard to the Koysha site and a temporary substation.
